The Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car which will be used in the GB4 Championship from the 2025 season onwards made its first public appearance at Silverstone today (Friday).
The new machine, a significant upgrade on the F4-T014 car that has been used in GB4 since 2022, participated in both GB4 test sessions held at the home of the British Grand Prix, with series podium finisher Max Marzorati at the wheel.
A successful shakedown test of the new package was carried out at Bedford Autodrome on Wednesday, again with Marzorati driving, with the car performing faultlessly straight out of the box, allowing for more dedicated running at Silverstone on Friday.
The car, which features a normally-aspirated two-litre, four-cylinder engine and heightened safety features, including the halo and stronger side-impact and rollover protection qualities, again ran without problems during both sessions at Silverstone. The test alongside the first generation GB4 cars currently racing in the series at the circuit this weekend, allowed MSV’s engineers to compare the performance levels of the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 in launch specification with the current model, and test reliability.
The new car completed the entirety of both 25-minute sessions at Silverstone, and registered lap times closely matching the current GB4 cars. The testing programme is expected to continue in the coming weeks.
Max Marzorati said: “The car ran faultlessly throughout the two days of testing, we encountered no problems and it’s allowed us to put some good mileage on it. Already I can tell that it is a better car to work with, both for drivers and engineers, and drivers will find it easier to go from the new GB4 car up to GB3.
“It’s a better car to drive, more predictable, easier to get heat into the tyres, and an all-round better package. Having a naturally aspirated engine is also much nicer to work with and to drive, and it’s really going to suit young drivers coming up through the ranks from karting. It looks great too, it’s going to make a real impression on karters and young drivers.”

Running the car at Silverstone today has also given our current teams, and prospective new ones, a chance to see the new model up close. Given it’s a new package, we’re delighted that it has run without fault over two days of running, and we’re now able to go away, analyse the data and continue our testing programme. Initial pace has been what we were targeting and it’s been really useful to get on a high-speed circuit so soon in the test programme. We’re sure the car will be a top platform for young drivers to hone their car setup and racing skills cost-effectively.”
