After a week of sunshine in Zuera, forecasts suggested a wet finale for the opening round of the 2026 IAME Euro Series. The rain, however, only appeared before the morning warm-up, but the decisive day remained mostly dry under cloudy skies. As the programme moved into the Superheats and Finals, strong winds began sweeping across the circuit, catching several drivers out and adding another challenge to an already tense final day of racing.

Another warm day with sunny skies and light clouds greeted the drivers at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera as the 2026 IAME Euro Series season officially moved into racing action. With timed qualifying completed on Thursday, and a full schedule of qualifying heats throughout the day, the grids across Mini, Junior and Senior began to take shape ahead of Saturday’s Superheats and Finals.

The 2026 IAME Euro Series officially began today at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera near Zaragoza in Spain’s Aragón region. Under sunny skies, drivers completed their final free practice sessions before heading into timed qualifying on the fast 1699-metre circuit, known for its long straight lines and strong slipstream effect. The first competitive session of the season immediately delivered tight margins across all categories.

The CRG Racing Team weekend in Essay in France, where the 2^nd Round of the FIA ​​European Championship of the OK & OKJ classes took place from the 27th to the 30th May, was once again made of a series of lights and shadows. The performances of the CRG drivers were characterized by ups and downs, due to some difficulties in finding a correct set-up balance with the MG tires used in this Championship. The Junior drivers in particular expressed themselves below their potential, lacking the qualification among the finalists.

The CRG team collected less than what it deserved in Genk (Belgium), where the 1^st round of the OK and OK Junior European Championships took place from 12^th to 16^th May. The entire race weekend was marked by very changeable weather conditions: since the free practice on Thursday, it was a continuous alternation of dry and wet track.

The first round of the European Karting Championship for the OK and OK Junior direct drive classes will take place this weekend at the Genk circuit, in Belgium. The FIA European Championship is made of 4 appointments: after the Belgian opening race, we will head to Essay in France, then Sarno (Italy) and the last race is scheduled in July on the Spanish track of Zuera.

The 1^st round of the Champions of the Future, the race organized by the promoter RGMMC on the Genk track (Belgium) is over. This event is made to allow all teams and drivers to get ready for the 1^st round of the European Championship of the OK and OKJ classes, which will take place right over there from 13^th to 16^th May. All the teams carried out an intense working program, especially in order to discover MG tires for the first time, after the FIA ​​made their use official in all European Championship and World Championship races.
