With the return of the sun and milder weather conditions compared to Qualifying Practice, the 199 drivers entered in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - OK and OK-Junior produced a magnificent show throughout the 43 Qualifying Heats. In each category, 72 drivers won their ticket for the Super Heats on Sunday morning, which will precede the long awaited Finals! Matheus Morgatto (BRA) in OK and Enzo Tarnvanichkul (THA) in OK-Junior are provisionally in first place, but the event is far from over.

After an excellent first half of the season marked by several victories and a brilliant European Championship, the Sodi Racing Team has started its preparation for the FIA Karting World Championship - OK-Junior that will take place in September in Sarno. The Italian circuit hosted a WSK Euro Series event from 29th to 31st July and, in the presence of an impressive 83 drivers, the French team and British driver Nathan Tye took 3rd place in the Final at the end of a highly informative meeting.

The renewed International Circuit Napoli of Sarno (Salerno) highlighted once again the competitiveness of about 240 drivers present at the second and closing round of the series. The challenge has been highly spectacular despite the very hot temperatures. Qualifying heats on Saturday contributed to the selection of the main protagonists and now all is set for the final stages that will take place on Sunday, July 31 when the KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI titles will be awarded. The final round of the Karting FIA European Championship reached an unusual intensity in OK-Junior but the Sodi Racing Team was perfectly prepared for this final event. The competitiveness shown by driver Nathan Tye allowed the Briton to take the lead in the Final and to be in a position to be crowned for a few laps. Although the numerous race hazards did not turn out in his favour in Franciacorta, Tye scored enough points over the whole competition to take 3rd place in a 2022 European Championship that was more competitive than ever!

Each in its own way, the two Finals in Franciacorta offered a breathtaking spectacle. However, neither winner became champion. Jan Przyrowski (POL) won in OK-Junior after epic battles full of twists and turns while Alex Powell (JAM) won in OK. After Free Practice sessions marked by rain showers, the Åsum Ring was dry for the Qualifying sessions of the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK and OK-Junior on Friday at noon in Kristianstad.
