Pedro Clerot remains with Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2025 FRECA season

Published on Tuesday, November 26, 2024

Pedro Clerot remains with Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2025 FRECA season

Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) confirmed that Brazilian racing talent Pedro Clerot will remain with the team for the 2025 FRECA (Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine) season. Following a promising rookie year with VAR in 2024, Pedro’s participation marks a continuation of his development as he aims to build on his experience and success in FRECA.

The 17-year-old Pedro Clerot, from Brasília, Brazil, has been immersed in motorsport from an early age, beginning his racing journey in karting in 2016. He secured multiple titles, including three Brasiliense Karting Championships and two Open Brazilian Karting Championships. At just 14, Pedro transitioned to single-seaters in 2021, claiming the rookie title in the Formula Delta series while becoming the youngest driver to secure a pole position and win an official competition in cars, including touring and single-seater events.

Pedro’s rapid rise continued in 2022, where he dominated the inaugural Brazilian Formula 4 Championship, earning seven wins, eleven podiums, and four pole positions to claim the title. His success earned him Brazil’s prestigious “Golden Helmet” award in 2023. That same year, he showcased his potential in Europe, competing in the Spanish F4 Championship, where he took three podium finishes of which two wins in his debut at Spa-Francorchamps.

In 2024, Pedro joined VAR for his first FRECA season, impressing with his adaptability and determination on Europe’s most prestigious circuits. He stood on the podium twice – in Mugello and Barcelona. Building on the foundation that’s been laid this year, Pedro’s second season will focus on translating his experience into competitive results.

Rob Niessink – CEO of Van Amersfoort Racing said: “We’re very happy to have Pedro continue with us for the 2025 FRECA season. His first year in the championship showed great promise, and we’ve been impressed with his progress both on and off the track. Pedro’s determination to improve gives us great confidence as we take on the challenges of a new season together.”

Pedro Clerot said: “I am very happy to continue my work with the team in 2025! We shared great moments and showed great potential during the 2024 season. I believe that together with the team we can show our true potential and achieve great results in this next season together.”

The 2025 FRECA season will be another exciting year for Pedro and Van Amersfoort Racing, with ten race weekends across Europe starting in May and concluding at Monza in October. The team is eager to continue its collaboration with Pedro as he builds on his rookie season and sets his sights on new goals.
