WSK Euro Series pole positions at Viterbo

After the spectacular conclusion of WSK Super Master Series in mid-March, WSK Promotion is back on the Circuit of Viterbo for the first of the two WSK Euro Series rounds, one of the most important events of international karting, which has launched many champions since its first edition in 2010. Such as Max Verstappen, who immediately won at his debut in the WSK event junior category KF3.
 

Great expectations from all main protagonists of MINI, OKNJ, OKN, OKJ and OK categories also for this first round of WSK Euro Series in Viterbo. First confrontation on the 1,300 metres of Leopard Circuit Viterbo with the timed qualifying practice to conquer the pole positions in view of the afternoon first heats. The event’s conclusion is set for Saturday, 17 May, with Prefinals and Finals on Live TV Streaming.

 

Qualifying Practices.

MINI GR.3 - Rea lays down the law.

In the first group of MINI Gr.3, the Italian Achille Rea (Birelart Racing/Birelart-TM Kart-Vega) laid down the law with best time of 58.260, ahead of the other two Italian drivers, Niccolò Perico (Team Driver/KR-Iame) at 0.294, winner of the recent WSK Super Master Series, and Antonio Ianni (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) at 0.296. In Group-2 the fastest was the Frenchman Stan Ratajski (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) in 58.771, ahead of the Finn Leo Laitinen (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart) at 34 thousandths and his team mate, the Swede Elton Hedfors at 89 thousandths.

MINI U10 – Same timing for Pasquali and Papageorgiou!

In the only session of MINI U10, a very close fight was confirmed with the two teammates, the Italian Daniel Pasquali and the Cypriot Andrea Papageorgiou, both with CRG Racing Team on T-Group-TM Kart-Vega, who achieved the exact same time of 59.242. Pole position went to Pasquali for the best second time of 59.313, against 59.389 of Papageorgiou. Among the fastest drivers, in his wake at 74 thousandths also the Dutchman Wynn Godschalk (Kidix/KR-Iame), while his team mate, the American Josh Bergman, the WSK Super Master Series star, is sixth at 0.172, preceded also by the French Nahyl El Gahoudi (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) at 0.145 and the Ukrainian Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing/KR-Iame) at 0.163 from pole.

OK-NJ - Xie surprises everyone.

In the only session of OK-NJ surprises the Chinese Huifei Xie (Team Driver/KR-Iame-Vega), who sets the best time of 53.196, by a whisker on the pursuers, led by the Swiss Albert Tamm (Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) at 39 thousandths. They are followed by the other Team Driver driver, the German Sebastian Riedel at 56 thousandths, the Ukrainian Vsevolod Osadcyi-Suslovskyi (Monster K Factory/Monster K-TM Kart) at 68 thousandths, and the other Ukrainian, Oleksandr Legenkyi of Team Driver, at 71 thousandths. The vice-champion of the Super Master, Michele Orlando with the DR team, is behind with the 22nd time.

OK-NJ - Huifei Xie surprises everyone
 

OKJ - Domain best overall time.

In the OKJ the best overall time was set by the Englishman Henry Domain (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart-Vega) in group-2 in 52.435, while his teammate, the Panamanian Gianmatteo Rousseau, had the best performance in group-1 in 52.619. In Group-2, behind Domain came Australian William Calleja at 0.259, also with Forza Racing, and Englishman Jesse Phillips (Fusion Motorsport/KR-Iame) at 0.310. In Group-1, after Rousseau is followed at 65 thousandths by his team-mate, the Turkish Iskender Zulfikari, and the Chinese Zai Jiang Hou (Ricky Flynn Motorsport/LN Kart-TM Kart) at 0.183.

OK-N - Scognamiglio by a whisker.

Excellent performance of the Italian Manuel Scognamiglio (Tellone Motorsport/Tony Kart-Iame-Vega) in the OK-N practice session with a time of 52.802, just a whisker ahead of last year's WSK Euro Series champion, the Polish Juliusz Ociepa with the Novalux team on Lenzokart-LKE, at 33 thousandths of a second. But the fight is also tight in the other positions, with the other protagonist of the category, the Italian Nicolas Marchesi (Team Driver/KR-Iame) at 42 thousandths, and the Swiss Georgiy Zasov (MhRacing/KR-TM Kart) at 0.106 and Christian Canonica (GSR Team/LN-Vortex) at 0.262.

OK - Costoya prevails.

In OK prevails the vice-champion of the Super Master, the Spanish Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart)-LeCont), with a time of 51.956, ahead of the British Zac Green (DPK/KR-Iame) at 0.174, who overtakes the Italian Filippo Sala (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart) by only 3 thousandths. Slightly more distant were the Turkish Alp Aksoy (Fusion Motorsport/KR-Iame) at 0.224, the Swedish Elliot Kaczynski (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-TM Kart) at 0.394, and the Swedish Oliver Kinnmark (Koski Motorsport/KR-Iame) at 0.395.
