The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine ignited its engines this morning for the second qualifying session at Zandvoort. The Dutch circuit severely challenged the young drivers in the continental series, as they had to contend with strong gusts of wind combined with heavy rain that characterized both official sessions.

Van Amersfoort Racing is excited to announce that countryman Niels Koolen will join the team for the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA). Koolen completes the VAR FRECA driver line-up for 2023, joining Joshua Dufek and fellow Dutchman Kas Haverkort.

Much of the world’s most exciting young racing talent, including numerous champions, is gearing up for the opening round of the Formula Regional Middle East Championship Certified by FIA at the Dubai Autodrome. The huge, international field will begin its schedule of five triple-header events on 13-14 January in support of the Dubai 24 Hours, before four more rounds, the entire season held at FIA Grade I circuits.

The second round of the 2019 IAME Benelux Series proved to be another successful weekend for Team Evolution, the British outfit finishing with four drivers in the top 4 after securing pole position for both the X30 Junior and Senior finals Sunday. Zach Ripley took an impressive victory in juniors ahead of fellow Evolution teammate Liam McNielly in third, while leading senior Joey van Splunteren was unbeaten in the races, until settling for P3 in a battle to the flag.
