The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine returned to the track this morning at Monza for the final qualifying session of the year. The atmosphere was electric ahead of what promises to be a historic afternoon at the Temple of Speed, where the series will contest its 100th race and crown not only the 2025 Drivers’ Champion, already decided in favour of Freddie Slater, but also the Teams’ title, still open between R-ace GP and Prema Racing.

A dominant victory for Italian driver Matteo De Palo with Trident at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Starting from pole position earned in the morning qualifying, De Palo led from lights to flag to win Race 1 of the seventh round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. He left no openings for rivals, even managing the restart perfectly after a Safety Car triggered by an incident involving CL Motorsport’s rookies Zhenrui Chi and Enea Frey, Giovanni Maschio with RPM Motorsport, Al Maosherji with G4 Racing, and Jack Beeton with Prema Racing. The two CL Motorsport rookies were forced to retire, while the others were able to continue.

A textbook victory was delivered by Freddie Slater this afternoon at Circuit Paul Ricard, host of the fifth of ten double-header rounds on the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine calendar. The Prema Racing driver led from lights to flag after starting from pole position, also setting the fastest lap mid-race. It was a flawless performance from the British driver, who, with his fourth win of the season, reclaimed the top spot in the overall standings by just three points over Matteo De Palo.
