James Wharton to make his FIA F2 Championship debut with Trident

On the eve of the penultimate round of the season in Qatar, Trident Motorsport announces a change to its FIA Formula 2 Championship lineup. In the race scheduled at the Lusail circuit, on the outskirts of the capital Doha, James Wharton will drive one of the Milan-based team's two cars. The 19-year-old Australian will partner with the already confirmed Laurens Van Hoepen.

After bidding farewell and thanking Max Esterson and Sami Meguetounif for their contribution to the team, Trident Motorsport is ready to turn the page with a brand-new line-up for the upcoming round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, scheduled from September 12–14 on the streets of Baku. Tackling the demanding Azerbaijani city circuit, the Italian team will hand F2 debuts to Martinius Stenshorne and Laurens Van Hoepen.
