After Spain and Portugal, the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship for the OK and OK-Junior categories has arrived at the Viterbo Circuit. This will be a major first at this level for the Leopard circuit, located north of Rome. Freddie Slater delivered a commanding performance in the opening race of the weekend at Zandvoort, securing his second victory of the season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The Prema Racing driver executed a textbook start, overtaking pole-sitter Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing) with a decisive move and controlling the race from start to finish. His strong pace and confidence with the car confirmed his excellent form as he crossed the line first on the Dutch circuit.

A total of 32 Qualifying Heats created an intense spectacle on the Leopard circuit, which proved well suited to this high-level FIA Karting competition. The battles were non-stop in all three categories, while the thermometer topped 30 degrees in the Lazio sun. In OK, Spaniard Christian Costoya confirmed his pole position from Friday with five wins out of five! Saturday’s action at the Steel Ring in Trinec delivered an intense day of racing for Round 2 of the 2025 Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. After a dry and consistent start in the morning, rain arrived midway through the afternoon, reshuffling the dynamics and rewarding those who adapted quickly to the slippery conditions.

It was a perfect start to the day for Van Amersfoort Racing on home soil, as Pedro Clerot delivered a standout performance to secure his first-ever pole position in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The Brazilian driver mastered the evolving track conditions at Zandvoort, where the session began on a damp surface due to earlier rainfall and gradually transitioned to slick tyres as the circuit dried.
