Rock Island, Illinois - Dates have been set for the 27^th running of the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix, the world’s largest karting street race, on Sept 3-4, 2022. The race lineup and rules are expected to be similar to 2021, with some changes under discussion. Organizers say, after hopefully moving out of the Covid era, racers can expect race details to be announced much earlier in 2022.  Racer organizers will once again be working with local partners to provide a full and fun weekend of activities for both racers and spectators.

The 2021 season for the California ProKart Challenge came to a close over the October 2-3 weekend with the sixth and final round of the year held at the CalSpeed Karting facility. It was the second visit to the Fontana, California facility in 2021, previously hosting the double-header weekend in June. For the series finale, the near 100 Superkarts! USA regional entries took to the ‘Classico’ layout to decide this year’s series champions.

The Fontana, California circuit outside the Auto Club Speedway is hosting the sixth and final round of the championship chase. The program contested a double-round weekend here back in June, with this single-round event set to battle around the ‘Classico’ layout in the counter-clockwise direction. Action in Fontana will be the final step of the 2021 championship program, with drivers taking the best five of six rounds toward the final standings.

The California ProKart Challenge hosted the penultimate round of the 2021 season on the September 11-12 weekend at the Willow Springs International Raceway. The Rosamond, California facility has been the site of many Superkarts! USA regional program events in the past, including both the famed Streets of Willow course and the karting circuit. The two-day event for Round Five of the 2021 championship program was held on the nine-turn, 6/10-mile kart track in the counter-clockwise direction.

Starting September 15, the documentary "Schumacher" about the life of Michael Schumacher will be available on Netflix. Ahead of the premiere, In addition to the mostly familiar life on the track, the German racing legend's private life is also covered.

Red Bull Ring provided PREMA Powerteam with a challenging weekend as the team lined up for round 5 of the Italian Formula 4 Championship

Bullet Athlete Franco Colapinto claimed two pole positions and controlled both races of Round 7 of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season at the Red Bull Ring, scoring two victories in the championship in dominant style.

PREMA Powerteam announces that Andrea Kimi Antonelli will join the team for his car racing debut in the final three rounds of the Italian Formula 4 Championship. The Italian racer will make the step to single-seater competition at the Red Bull Ring only a few days after turning 15 years old.

Karting Australia has announced the formation of a Women in Karting Commission, a Working Committee which aims to create a culture across the whole sport that encourages and facilitates the development and participation of women and girls in all aspects of Australian karting.

The South African Rotax Max Karting Challenge is raring to race once again following its second lockdown laps in two seasons. Club racing already re-starts this coming weekend before the various regional series picks up again through August and then a revised national calendar will resume in September.

The 2021 edition of the SWS International Finals was a great success from 15th to 17th July in Italy at the famous South Garda Karting track in Lonato. 295 participants and 34 nations competed in the Sprint Cup, Junior and Junior Kid Cups as well as the Endurance Cup in a 12-hour race. 

Growing Covid-19 restrictions and uncertainty forces postponement of Round Four and the rescheduling of Round Five. Karting Australia advises that Round Four of the 2021 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE has again been postponed.

The Race of Stars International Karting Event will not be held at the Xtreme Karting Facility on the Gold Coast in November as originally planned. The announcement comes following a decision earlier this month by the Planning and Environment Court of Queensland to refuse a development application appeal by the owners of the facility. The decision has forced the owners of the facility to cease operation with immediate effect.

Tuukka Taponen and Bruno Del Pino, official drivers of the Tony Kart Racing Team in the OK class, are the drivers they suggested to Ferrari Driver Academy who take part in the Scouting Camp organized by the FDA itself in partnership with ACI (Automobile Club d'Italia) with the aim of looking for the most promising young karters.

The fifth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship has crowned Parolin Motorsport driver Alfio Spina as OK Champion 2021. Around 300 participants from 36 different countries took part in the competition from 18th to 20th June at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno.

The Karting Australia Board has selected the LeCont and Maxxis tyre brands as the successful tenderers to supply tyres for the Karting Australia sanctioned karting for the period 1st January 2022 – 31st December 2026.

There was much expectation for the 1st round of the Spanish Karting Championship, that took place last weekend on the Campillos track because it matched with Jaime Alguersuari's return to go-kart races. The former F1 driver, in fact, while waiting to make his debut with the official CRG team in Wackerdorf in the 1st Round of the European Championship, took part in his shakedown with the CRG colors (MDC Racing) in the KZ class in the Spanish National Championship, confirming whatever good that has already emerged in the tests.

Mercedes have made moves in the driver market ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix by signing young Chinese karting star Yuanpu Cui to their junior squad. The 13-year-old from Xi’an, China
