The 2019 FIA Karting World Championship in Finland proved to be a much more difficult race than expected for all competitors. On the prestigious international circuit of Le Mans, the young Italian was in the fight to integrate once again the coveted top three, when a cruel accident put an end to his performance a few tens of metres from the finish. Coluccio and Birel ART will most definitely be planning to take revenge at the World Championship in September.

The 2019 FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior started and will be completed in France, as the fourth and final Competition will be held at the Le Mans circuit on 19th to 21st July. The first three Competitions revealed different hierarchies according to the terrain and the conquest of both titles remains uncertain among a handful of strong contenders.

The issue of tyre wear was frequently at the heart of the drivers' and teams' concerns during the Swedish Kart Grand Prix at Kristianstad. Light persistent rain, a dry track and clear sunshine followed each other to give a wide range of grip conditions depending on the tyres and settings used. With all Qualifying on a dry track, Qualifying Practice ended with the first Pole Positions for Andrea Kimi Antonelli in Junior and Dexter Patterson in OK.

Before the conclusion at Le Mans (FRA) at the end of July, the 2019 FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior will head to Kristianstad (SWE) from 31st May to 2nd June for a decisive Competition. The first two European meetings have not yet established a precise hierarchy between the participants. For this third round, the field promises to be full with nearly 190 Drivers entered.

During a particularly tricky competition, Birel ART Racing was able to place two of its drivers at the front of the OK European Championship. Pole position and 3rd place in Qualifying Practice for Luigi Coluccio and Alessandro Irlando, followed by two top-three finishes in the heats, confirmed the level of performance of the Birel ART chassis and their TM Racing engines at the highest level.

Karting Genk is the host of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship. The Genk circuit will host the second of the four European Competitions with the Belgian Kart Grand Prix from 16th to 19th May. The 1360 m of the Belgian track will provide an ideal setting for the 169 drivers entered for the second Competition of the 2019 FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior.
