Modena Kart P1 and P2 in the Italian Championship

Modena Kart Racing Team continues to dominate the podium! Whatever the competition, the Italian team confirms its expertise. A week after their double podium finish in the WSK Euro Series, Gioele Girardello and Albert Tamm achieved the same performance, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Final of the fourth round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship in Cremona. In OK-N Junior, the Italian and Swiss drivers now occupy the top two places in the overall standings, with only one event left to go. Once again, the competitiveness of the Modena Kart team's Parolin-TM Kart combinations was clearly established.

Pole Position to start the competition

After Albert Tamm set the fastest time in Cremona a week earlier in the WSK Euro Series, it was his teammate Gioele Girardello's turn to enjoy pole position. With a total of 92 entrants in the OK-N Junior category, this was a remarkable achievement. His very fast time of 48.877 seconds was never beaten during the weekend. With the 2nd fastest time in his group and 6th overall, Albert Tamm was also in the leading group, as was Finland's Oskari Walle, who qualified an excellent 12th.

10 Wins in the Heats and Prefinal, Nine Fastest Laps

The exceptional performance of Gioele Girardello and Albert Tamm was confirmed in the heats. The Italian achieved a perfect score with five wins out of five, along with three fastest laps. As for the Swiss driver, he won three times and was the fastest on the track four times. The high pace of the two drivers did not slow down in the Prefinal. Girardello won the "A" and Tamm the "B". In both cases, the fastest lap was achieved by members of the Modena Kart team.

Federico Mirabella, who was lower in the Qualifying Practice rankings than his two teammates, made an impressive comeback to 15th position on the starting grid for the Final, thanks to a total of 22 places gained and a remarkable 5th place in the Prefinal. Oskari Walle also distinguished himself by finishing four heats in the top three, including three 2nd places. Demir Sagim reached the Prefinal. His 5th place in a heat showed that the young Turkish hopeful is capable of doing very well.

Four Modena Kart Team Drivers in the top eight at the chequered flag!

The Cremona event ended with a rewarding overall result. The battle for 1st place was fierce, and the Modena Kart team managed to celebrate a double podium finish: Girardello in 2nd and Tamm in 3rd, as in the WSK Euro Series a week earlier. The Italian is now leading the ACI Italian Karting Championship with 198 points, ahead of his Swiss team-mate, who has 196 points! The 2025 Champion will be announced on September 21st in Franciacorta. Starting in 18th place, Walle brilliantly climbed up to 7th position, while also setting the fastest lap. At the finish line, Mirabella finished just ahead of his Finnish teammate, but a five-second penalty (incorrect front fairing position) pushed him back to 18th place.

Statement by Gabriele Finocchi, Team Principal of Modena Kart

“This event in Cremona is yet another confirmation of the standard our team has reached. Achieving back-to-back one-two finishes in the WSK Euro Series and the Italian Championship, with the same drivers on the podium, shows the strength of our organisation. I want to highlight the consistency of Gioele and Albert, as well as the strong performances from our other drivers, all of whom are making progress. We’re heading into the final round of the championship with both ambition and humility. Nothing is decided yet, but our direction is clear.”

The perspective of Alessandro Palloni, Team Manager of Modena Kart

“We knew the potential was there, and week after week, the work continues to pay off. What strikes me most is the commitment from everyone involved – from the drivers and mechanics to the technical staff and our partners. Four drivers in the top eight, a double podium, and a title battle between two of our drivers: it’s a powerful moment for the team. One race remains in Franciacorta, and we’ll give it everything to end this championship in the best possible way.”

The Modena Kart team would like to thank and congratulate everyone who participated in this successful event, not forgetting, of course, Parolin Motorsport and TM Kart.
