The Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship has crowned Britain's Joe Turney in OK and Belgium's Dries Van Langendonck in Junior with their performances in Sweden confirming their talent. Belgium's Gilles Herman won the FIA Karting Academy Trophy with an excellent display of maturity, while Switzerland's Dan Allemann came back brilliantly to secure 2nd place.

Three FIA Karting titles will be awarded at the event in Kristianstad, Sweden, from 1st to 4th August 2024 as part of the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior and the FIA Karting Academy Trophy. After 15 qualifying heats in each of the two categories of the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship OK & Junior, Thibaut Ramaekers (BEL) was leading the OK intermediate classification, while Christian Costoya (ESP) took the lead in the OK-Junior category. Dan Allemann (CHE) maintained his lead with two wins in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, with two heats still to be contested on Sunday morning.

The final day of the FIA Karting meeting at the Slovak Karting Center was bathed in sunshine without excessive heat and the races were even more intense in these excellent conditions. In a rare circumstance there were three winners from one country - Thibaut Ramaekers in OK, Dries Van Langendonck in Junior and Gilles Herman in Academy - all from Belgium.

The weather has changed considerably since Friday at Orechová Potôň where the heat has given way to changeable conditions that have evolved during the day from rain to sunshine in temperatures of between 20 and 26° at the Slovakia Karting Center. Matheus Morgatto (BRA) took the lead in OK, Niklas Schaufler (AUT) and Dries Van Langendonck (BEL) finished level on points in OK-Junior and Gilles Herman (BEL) was the best performer in the Academy Trophy.

The weather played an important role in the running of the FIA Karting Val d'Argenton Event. After the changeable and wet weather of the first two days, the sun shone on Sunday and all the races took place on a dry track. Joe Turney (GBR) continued his domination of the OK class to the Final, as did Iacopo Martinese in OK-Junior. Jakub Gasparovic (SVK) won the first 2024 Final of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

Pole positions were secured on a dry track during the first sessions by Iacopo Martinese (ITA) in Junior and David Cosma Cristofor (ROU) in OK. The two timed series of the first FIA Karting Academy Trophy Competition took place in the rain, with Dan Allemann (CHE) the fastest.

Sacha van 't Pad Bosch will represent the Netherlands in this year's FIA Karting Academy Trophy. The 14-year-old karting talent from Nijkerk was selected by the KNAF (Dutch Motorsport Federation) based on his achieved results and rapid progression.

The 2024 Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship in the OK and OK-Junior categories is already shaping up to be a great success. The first of the four Competitions will be well attended, with a total of 200 Competitors taking part. The number of Competitors in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior continues to rise, with an increase of around 10% compared to 2023. A record number of 91 OK Drivers and 109 in OK-Junior, representing 48 nations, is expected at the Kartódromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in Valencia from 21st to 24th March.
