Sebastian Murray joins Graham Brunton Racing for remainder of GB4 campaign

Karting graduate Sebastian Murray will compete in the final two rounds of this season’s GB4 Championship with Graham Brunton Racing.

The Scottish-born UAE-based driver graduated out of karting towards the end of last year, making his Formula 4 debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix-supporting UAE F4 Trophy event at the Yas Marina Circuit, where he banked two top-10 finishes in front of the F1 paddock.

The 16-year-old followed that up by completing the full 15-race UAE F4 campaign earlier this year, including events at the Dubai Autodrome, Kuwait Motor Town, and Yas Marina circuits. Since then, he’s been elevating his single-seater experience with a European F4 testing programme.

Prior to his single-seater debut, Murray had enjoyed a strong karting career, and competed in both the IAME UAE and Rotax Max Challenge UAE Rotax Senior categories last year, while also racing in the IAME Euro Series.

Murray joins fellow Scottish youngster Harry Burgoyne in the expanded two-car line-up for the Knockhill-based squad. His GB4 debut at Brands Hatch will mark his first single-seater race experience in the UK, and he’s also scheduled to compete at the Donington Park season finale in October.

Sebastian Murray said: “I am really excited about the opportunity to drive for Graham Brunton Racing.  New tracks, new car and a new team will be a fantastic learning experience and I can’t wait!”

Team Principal Graham Brunton said: “We’re delighted to add Sebastian to our line-up for the final two rounds of this year’s GB4 Championship. He has shown a lot of potential through his karting career, and joins our team with some good F4 knowledge courtesy of his races in the Middle East. Brands Hatch and Donington Park are very different circuits to those he is used to, but it’s all part of the challenge that with our help, will enable him to develop further as a driver.”
