F4: Sofia Zanfari takes a podium finish in race 1 at Magny-Cours

Moroccan champion Sofia Zanfari, 18, is one of six female drivers competing in the 2025 French F4 Championship. At the fourth round of the season, on the Magny-Cours circuit, she managed to climb onto the second step of the women's podium for the first time in Race 1.

Tough lap times

During a complicated Qualifying session where it was necessary to be fast right from the start, Sofia achieved the 4th fastest time among the women competing. She then relied on the advice of her coach Xavier Pompidou to improve her position in Race 1.

A great comeback in race 1

Sofia seized the right opportunities to make good progress in the standings. Fighting courageously from start to finish and avoiding pitfalls, she moved up a total of seven places in 16 laps and finished 2nd in the women's standings behind Dutch driver Annabelle Brian and ahead of French driver Jade Jacquet.

Sofia started the season on the women's podium in Race 1 at Nogaro before going on to achieve several top four finishes in the next two events at Dijon and Spa-Francorchamps.

"This 2nd place is a very encouraging result that makes me extremely happy," said the young Moroccan. "The hard work is finally paying off and I am able to progress thanks to the engineers at the FFSA Academy and my coach Xavier Pompidou. There are still two races to go in September and I intend to take advantage of them to show what I am capable of. Scoring points in the overall standings remains difficult as you have to finish in the top 10, but I can make positive progress in the women's standings.”
