70 days until the start of the German Kart Championship

In 70 days, the time has come, in the Bavarian Ampfing the new season of the German Kart Championship begins. Already, a high-caliber field of participants is emerging. More than 110 riders have already registered for the championship.

After a long winter break, riders, teams and organizers are looking forward to the start of the German Kart Championship 2020. It starts on the Schweppermannring in Ampfing. The first race of the year will take place in Bavaria from May 8th to 10th. Afterwards, it continues to Wackersdorf, Kerpen, Mülsen and Genk in Belgium.

The program includes the German Kart Championship, the German Junior Kart Championship, the German Shift Kart Championship, the DMSB Schalt-Kart-Cup and the German Electric Kart Championship, again five classes. The start of the new season was the registration start in January. Since then, more than 115 participants have submitted their nominations and promise top-class fields. Until March 1st, interested driver can still enrol in the DKM, DJKM, DSKM and DSKC at a reduced rate. An online tool is available for enrollment.

Attractive prices await the best drivers again at the end of the year. In addition to free registrations and tyres for the 2021 season, the best-placed will also receive simulator and test drives. In addition, in 2020 there will be a Nations Cup for the first time, in which the best nation will be honored within the framework of the DKM at the end of the year. The best team will also continue to be awarded a trophy and a free starting place for 2021. For all participants of the DKM are DJKM and DSKM the two worst final results are not considered for the championship ranking. In the DMSB Schalt-Kart-Cup, the worst result from a pre-final and a final of a final phase is not considered in the overall ranking.

A new e-kart will be used in the German Electric Kart Championship this year. Technology partner BRP-Rotax presented the prototype of the new model "Project E20" at the end of last year. With a new concept, the kart has a lower weight and therefore a higher performance with longer range. The winner of the DEKM gets a test drive in a Porsche Cayman GT4. In addition, the first two riders qualify for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain. A third ticket for the World Finals will be raffled off among all DEKM participants.
