Anthoine Hubert’s babykart has been returned to his family
Anthoine Hubert’s babykart has been returned to his family, almost two decades after the young French driver started his motorsport career in that same Topkart. After a brief search, the family of Anthoine Hubert have been reunited with his babykart.
Anthony's mother Nathalie Gabert asked on Twitter to help her family find Anthoine’s babykart. “We are looking for Anthoine’s babykart; it was a Topkart brand kart and bought from Thierry Lemarié in Laval in December 1999. We think we probably sold it to a little girl between 2003 and 2005. Thank you in advance for your help!”
A few days later, Nathalie posted on Twitter that the kart had been located and, on Saturday, posted a picture of the family reunited with the kart. Hubert began his karting career as a young child and after a successful career in karts, he moved into single-seater racing.
Hubert was tragically fatally injured in a high speed crash in FIA Formula 2’s feature race at Spa-Franchorchamps during the Formula 1-weekend in August. The BWT Arden driver crashed into the barriers at Radillion exiting Eau Rouge and was then hit by Charouz driver Juan Manuel Correa.
