Rotax Danish Champions 2009
Published by Bas Kaligis 3 december 2009 01:22 - Print | | The Rotax Danish Championships is every year a very important raceseries for the Danish Rotax drivers. The championship series is run over several events for the Rotax classes Mini – Junior – Senior and DD2.
Rotax Mini
This class was on 10 events at 6 different tracks all over Denmark. 29 drivers participated in this 2009 championship. At the beginning of the season it was Mikkel O. Pedersen / Swiss Hutless and Frederik Schandorff / Intrepid to fight for the title. But in the second half of the season Mikkel O. Pedersen made it clear – and with victories in the last 3 racemeetings – he took the Danish title.

Rotax Junior.
The Junior class is very competitive in Denmark, and before the season there where 6 – 8 different favourites for the title. 52 drivers participated in this 2009 championship. At the start of the season - Nicki E. Kristensen / Birel, and Niklas D. Knudsen / Mach1.
scored maximum points in 2 event. Alexander Weiss / Intrepid also scored maximum points in 2 events. But in the last 2 events the fight for the Danish title was between Nicki E. Kristensen and Niklas D. Knudsen. After the last finale only 2 points separated the new 2009 Junior Danish Champion, Nicki E. Kristensen and number two, Niklas D. Knudsen. On a fine third place it was Alexander Weiss.

Rotax Senior
The championship was run over 6 rounds, and also in the Senior class there where several favourites. But Morten Dons / Lenzo Kart took in the first 4 round many important points, and only mechanical problem could take the title away from him. And after the last round it was a safe an well deserved Danish title to Morten Dons. Second and third place in the championship was taken by Kasper H. Jensen / Swiss Hutless and Andres H. Jensen / Jasmin Kart. 62 drivers participated in this 2009 championship.

Rotax DD2
The DD2 Danish Championship was on 5 rounds with 4 rounds to count. The champion from 2007 - 2008 – Dennis Ladefoged didn´t participate in the first round so the championship was open. But after 3 wins and a fifth place – Dennis Ladefoged was Rotax DD2 Danish Champion 2009. Nick Palk / MS Kart was second in the Championship and Brian Steen / Birel was third.
