Sarno (Salerno) Maranello Kart joined the single event of KZ1 “Queen” class with gears of World Cup at International Circuit of Napoli in Sarno which took place on the 6th of September. On the occasion of this event, Maranello Kart lined up two of its most representative drivers: the young Finnish Aaro Vainio, new winner of European Super KF, and the English Ben Hanley, who is successfully involved in motor racing but glad to participate to the most impressive events.
Both drivers joined this event in Sarno and competed with the most experienced protagonists on this category trying to get some important results, even though they were acquainted with impossibility to do their maximum. The fifteen years old Vainio owns two International titles, the 2008 European KF3 and the European Super KF of this years. This was his first experienced racing with a kart with gears. Hanley is back after having missed for five years from this category. In spite of difficulties to adapt themselves, the two drivers worked very hard in order to achieve a very good performance. Hanley qualified himself in Final starting from the 26th position reached during qualifying heats, the 19th position in Prefinal, concluding at the 15th position in Final. Unfortunately Vainio was not able to join the Final stage because of some accidents during two manches. The young Finnish driver showed anyway his good skills during some races and here he could improve his experience useful for the future.
At the first edition of KF3 World Cup, the International young category that is going to replace the last 100 Junior, the unsettled weather spoiled the performance of Maranello drivers, forcing them to start from back positions of qualifying heats. The Portuguese Francisco Abreu (Gandolfi Team) was able to qualify himself in the Final of this category, while the other Maranello drivers have been excluded owing to some accidents, like the Finnish Mikko Pakari who was very closed not to miss the Final. The English Jordan King, The Russian Pavel Rudakov and the French Mathieu Jaminet did not go beyond the manches. Abreu got a clash during the start in pre-final. Then he got another clash at the starting line of the Final but he was anyway able to conclude at the 25th position.
THE INTERVIEW. Armando Filini, Manager of Maranello Kart: “Our drivers in KZ1 Hanley and Vainio tried to do their best even though they did not get any prominent results. Five years far away from this category was Hanley’s obstacle, while Vainio competed this event with a kart with gears for his first time. It has been anyway a positive experience for both of them. KF3 is a very bright class where we are forced to start from behind, like what happened to us because of weather conditions during the heats. It is very easy to run into some accidents. Now we have to be concentrated about next International event of WSK in Zuera (Spain) on the 27th of September. We will have the opportunity to show our skills and potentiality”.
